Ted Todd - Warehouse, Raw Cotton Herringbone

Founded in 1857 in Nybro, Sweden
Kährs is the oldest wood flooring manufacturer in the world still in operation, started as a small woodworking business deep in the Swedish forest, and it’s still headquartered in Nybro today.
Invented the engineered wood floor
In 1941, Kährs patented the multilayer floor construction that became the global standard for parquet and engineered flooring — the cross-ply structure (hardwood top layer, softwood core) that resists warping, cupping and cracking in changing humidity.
Award-winning, design-led ranges
Genuinely sustainable, not just marketing
Kährs has continually pushed engineered wood into new territory, from robotised design lines that adjust patterns to each unique plank, to a broad range of herringbone parquet formats and refined surface treatments (brushed, hand-scraped, oiled, matt lacquer) that let every floor feel individually finished rather than mass-produced.
Nothing goes to waste at the Nybro plant: offcuts, bark and sawdust are converted into biofuel that heats around 6,000 local Swedish homes a year. Kährs also holds ISO 14001, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and FSC-backed sourcing credentials, and today it’s the largest flooring manufacturer in Europe.
